Hats & Vintage Furs

We hand make & create our own range of "Toppers" designed and styled to be worn by ladies, and secured with hats pins. We use any vintage materials we can source these include: Marabou Feathers, Ostrich Feathers (naturally shed if possible ranging in sizes from 6 inches to 26 inches), Silks, Taffetas’, Velvets and Sateen. We try and utilise old and worn Victorian items such as full plumages from other hats or hairpieces as well as old lace. Vintage lace is incredibly hard to come by these days and we do use a range from Weavers lace makers. These patterned laces are exact Original Victorian copies to laces dated 1859 to 1900.

We also utilise a wide product range of pom-poms, wires and ribbons to complement all our handcrafted items.

The fur in this section is all Vintage fur, although in some cases such as our handmade hand warmers faux fur is used.

Peach Feather Ladies Hat

This Victorian peach feather Hat is made from a Victorian boa hand applied to a shard straw hat base. Accented with peach flowers and red thin ribbons ties into bows. We also added a wonderfully large pink/peach ostrich feather and 2 Victorian white ostrich feathers to give this fantastic plume look.

Elegant Ladies Topper

Here from our Unique design house is this rather elegant and bewitching Ladies Gothic Top hat.This stovepipe top hat has been hand covered with a panel of velvet that was bought in France last year. To the top outer rim I added a large panel of hemmed Voile that hangs over and around the face on a "diamond" angle to create a mysterious and seductive look to the wearer.Onto this I added a band of 1.5 inch trim to finish of the look when the viel is worn over the face. To the centre of the top hat I have placed a Genuine French Jet button and 2 long bands of vintage ribbon.

To the rim of the Top hat I have hand applied a row of gathered black vintage lace (just under the fabulous and hard to find chenille banding) that inturn is encased in vintage thick black lace.On the actual body of the stove pipe topper I added this amazing band of the most wonderful Black Florin Victorian ornament style trim that is 3 inches wide.Onto the front I have hand sewn this fabulous real Victorian Jet button ornately carved and holding into place a spray of black Victorian plumage. Also accented with black ribbon roses.

The base of the hat has been rivetted with brass fitting to hold into place 4 ribbon lengths that can be tied under the chin or left to hang....This is Number 3 of 5 we have produced, bought and used by film and television work, seen in photographic works and next year also seen in a Victorian themed Calender.
